I believe Honeymooners is set for an October release.

The paragraph cited contains dates for both September and October.

I wouldn't care to guess if it'll be season sets or separate volumes.

God, am I so glad to hear this now.

I was very close to going the Columbia House
route in obtaining all these episodes. I just
knew in the back of my mind, however, that if
Columbia House was offering them now, a major
studio must already have plans to release them
as well.

This is great news!

I hope they release them as a box set and not release them as single dvd's with volumes # on them like I Love Lucy.

Looks like you're right, Scott. I just totally overlooked where it said October. Could a mod please edit the title to read October, instead of September? Thanks.

If they are releasing it in volumes, and not a box set on the first volume i want these episodes, the one where ralph and ed fight over the tv, and also the one where he sleepwalks with a dog.:emoji_thumbsup: :)

I don't want to read anything into this, but the release I've seen says:

"Coming in October...
... The Honeymooners - the original TV series"

There is no volume number or season number indicated.

You may read into that whatever you wish...

I'm just hoping its not a repackaging of the Columbia House ones like I Love Lucy.

Yes, there were only 39 episodes produced of the half-hour series we are mostly familiar with. There were sketches, varying in length, of the Honeymooners with the original cast which aired as part of an early Gleason variety show, if I'm not mistaken, and these have been dubbed "The Lost Episodes" (which is dumb, since they've been available for a God's age). I believe these are already on DVD, taken from the Kinescope source material (i.e. not great).

Maybe Gord's just unintentionally got the date wrong at 11/21 instead of 10/21 at tvshowsondvd.com. I think 10/21 is probably correct (11/21 isn't a Tuesday).

Now I wish they would release the 40 or so episodes that were filmed in COLOR in t966/67. They are currently airing on the Goodlife Network. They are 1 hour musical shows.
I've seen a few, and I think they are really fun. It's really weird to see Ralph and Norton break into song during one of their arguments!

I really like the coverart, also it seems that since its a 5 disc set, itll be broken down to 7 episodes on some discs, and at least 8 on 1 of them. Cant wait ! :) :emoji_thumbsup:

Tony, Dane...thanks for bringing that to my attention. Gord fat-fingered the date, and I perpetuated it in the cover art article. I corrected it in the article and mentioned that the date comes from Amazon, not Paramount, and that DVDEmpire has a different date of 11/4.
