Any feedback on the Optoma H56?

Supposedly has the Mustang DLP chip from TI and will sell for less than 5G's

Don't know much about Optoma......

Actually, the H56 uses the 4:3 aspect ratio, XGA resolution DLP chip that otherwise has similar characteristics (12 degree mirrors, double data rate) as the HD2 "Mustang" chip. This is the same chip in NEC's lauded HT1000 projector. It has some interesting options, such as allowing a "1/4 HD" mode to be selected for 1080i material.

You might also be thinking about the recently announced H76, which uses the new "HD 2.5" chip with one of the green panels on the color wheel being a darker color, helps reduce dithering. The MSRP is just $5999! That's about half the retail price of most HD2 projectors, though the Toshiba and Infocus models have been streeting in that vicinity.
