I've never been an XMan fan, but for some reason, I've been watching the last few episodes of this series on CN and have begun to like what I'm seeing.

How does this series fit in withthe original? What with the costume changes and all...

It doesn't fit in with it at all. Oh how I miss the original show. They followed a lot of the comic lore and used some shots from the comics in the show. I wish Saban Entertainment would let it be put in season sets. :frowning:

X-Men Evolution is like a alternate reality version of young x-men adventures. Don't really care for it. Unlike the Fox series. I silently wait for season boxsets to be announced one day.

I have some sort of thing with superhero action shows. X-Men (the new and old ones), Superfriends, those kinds of things, even the really old stuff. I don't know why, but I can't help but want to watch them.

I kinda like this show. Knowing what I do about the original series, comics, and movies (which is very little, actually) I can see some areas where it's off in terms of who is where, and making the X-Men all teens is a bit of a problem (like how is Jean Grey going to date Scott?), but it's still enjoyable for what it is outside of the anachronisms.

I agree with Morgan. While I love the original cartoon...Evolution is at least watchable.

While I don't exactly love Evolution, I do think it's worlds above the original Fox cartoon, which was one of the most disappointing cartoons I've ever seen, a cartoon I disliked in literally every single aspect. Evolution's got a weird setup but once you get past that it's at least a good-looking, passably done show.

Of course, nothing beats the original Pryde of the X-Men pilot. I crack up everytime I even think of that Australian Wolverine insult his enemies by using words like "dingo" :)

Must...resist...urge..to..criticize...AARRGHH!!!! I cant! :D, I'll apologize for what Im about to say but Evolution ,makes alot more sense story wise than the movies do. I rather enjoy their take on X-Men. More consistent and inline with how I remember the characters.Any changes they've made are handled real well, unlike the films. Just IMHO of course. ;) The old cartoon however was horrible, terrible quality. And Pryde of the X-Men rules!:D I LOVE the animation in that one! Still holds its own by todays standards if you ask me...

Again Im so sorry,I just couldnt help myself.Sometimes you just got to let it out ya know? :)

Later,
Luis S

I don't really care for it (though I have no X-Men credentials... haven't seen the movies or read the comics), but I do like that new Justice League cartoon that comes on before it.

As an old school X-Fan, I really enjoy Evolution. I think it was a unique spin on the characters, and while I enjoyed the 90's cartoon when it was on, I think that it was inferior to Evolution.

I think the storyline is fairly decent considering how bad it could have been.

My real beef with WB is their declining quality of animation. If you watch CN, every preceding WB produced show has better animation than the last. Superman is better than JL, Batman Beyond is better than Superman, Batman is better than BB. I don't know how much worse it can get- JL is pretty damn lame.

Whatever happend to X-Men Evolution on WB, saturday mornings? Are they done with the show? They stopped showing new episodes a long time ago.

And now that you guys mention Justice League...I got fed up with CN showing so many re-runs!!!
Are they showing any new episodes of JL? If so, when?

Evolution is on Cartoon Network now, and I think I read somewhere that the show is indeed done as far as new episodes go. I'm not sure about the times, but it definitely comes on in the evenings.

And I think JL is supposed to have new episodes starting soon, if not already. I caught a bit of one the other night, with the JL going back to WWII and fighting Vandal Savage, that I assumed was new.

I watched a few minutes of this last night, and for some reason I had never noticed this before, but something about it struck me as ironic. That is, it's this show where most of the X-Men are reimagined as teenagers, yet the one X-Man who embodies the adolescent male id more than any other character, Wolverine, is actually an adult teacher. I think it's refreshing, though, if only because Logan as another rebellious kid would have been so predictable.

The Wolverine character didn't get the implants until he was an adult, so it wouldn't have worked.
