I saw this movie last night on TCM and I liked it a lot. There are some things that confuse me though. Especially at the beginning of the movie we see several "dream like" sequences for example when he escapes from Alcatraz after being shot. Another one is when he's with his wife in her flat when she killed herself, the living room is filled with furniture and then immediately after that the room is completely empty.
What I'm trying to say is...did he die at Alcatraz after Mal Reese shot him and did he "dream" his escape and revenge before he died or did it really happen ?

Great movie, hope a dvd release is coming soon.

My take was that it was real. I've been waiting for this DVD for years...

Hopefully they were referring to 'Point Blank' (1997) starring Mickey Rourke...

:) Get movie with Lee Marvin giving one of his all time best
performaces...Here are some clues to the meaning..one of the best parts is when you hear him walking....this leads to a dream or dying like last memory..his disappearance
at the end indicates maybe his spirit or revenge being faded.....time is confused or modifyed at the time of death......this and Vanishing Point are two of the best movies ever made with mulitiple meanings..my best guess-DEADER than a door nail.
