DON'T DO THAT! :D

I thought you meant a new Zelda only to be packaged with the new bundle. Wind Waker is old hat ;)

Oh, I'm sorry. That's what I get for trying to pen a "news article"-ish subject. I'm reporting my original post to a mod now to edit for clarity.

I suspect Gamers.com is confused. Reuters doesn't say anything about a special bundle, it just says that the "buy a GC, get a free game" promo is being extended to July and that as of May 4th WW will be replacing Resident Evil 0 in the promotion.

If they did a true bundle with a gold GameCube, Nintendo would be getting a possible second system sale from me.

I bought this bundle a week or two ago at the Wal-Mart on Murphy Canyon here in San Diego. There was a thread about this at the time.

The bundle also comes with Ocarina of Time and a GCN/GBA link cable.

Could you point me in the direction of this thread? I've tried a few different searches and didn't come up with anything.

I knew the GC/Zelda/bonus disc/link cable bundle was available in Europe but I didn't know it had been released here. Does it still cost $150?

I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures. Sad to see them already having to give away their cash cow, as the other 4 games in the bundle were great.

Zelda Article
That's pretty much the same as the Reuters article.

What it looks like to me is that there are two separate deals going on here -- the special boxed bundle for Wal-Mart and maybe a few other retailers and one for everyone else along the lines of the existing promotion.

Eithey way a new Gamecube Owner has the option of getting Zelda for free. So the consumer yet again wins.
