I have heard they die in 24 hours is this true?
How concerned shoud I be?
Any feedback from those in similar situations would be welcome.

yeah, they die very quickly if trapped in an enclosed space... I once trapped a bee that flew into my room once, in a small clear glass bowl, it died in a few hours. Did the same thing to a fly once, left it overnight, it was dead the next morning.

search for 'spider' in this forum, you'll find some similar topics

Never had a fly but do get the occasional moth, usually they die in 24 hrs or less, and I've never had one die and land on one of the crt lenses.

I have covered the ventilation holes in the back of the set with some fibreglass window screen material from Home Depot secured with old reliable duct tape but still get the occasional flitterer.

My pets don't venture behind the set so I scattered a few mothballs back there, nasty smell though.

Turn the TV on and it will give up the ghost in a few hours :D

You think you have it bad? My cat could shimmy thru the port on my JBL bass bin and sleep!!!

Well ah Ken what happened when the sub was activated?
Ding Dong the fly is dead wicked fly is dead!
I did have a Sony KP53HS10 a few years back and I had a spider in it for a few weeks.
I discovered it when my mother-in-law was over and freaked out!
My wife and her Mom were quite entertained about my reaction because I was so pissed about the arachnid in my beloved Sony...they just don't understand.
Oh well the fly is dead and when I get the guts up to focusing I hope I will find it's dead rotted carcus baked to oblivion...and give to the dog whom eats bird seed.:D
