Alex,
Check out my site www.TVShowsOnDVD.com for information on Lost in Space. Looks like we may see a release
Oh, as for SCTV, my friend works for Global who now owns the rights to the show. I've been bugging him to talk to the lady who works with the series but he keeps forgetting. A little aside to that - one person who owns all episode, uncut without commercials, is Tom Hanks. His wife called them up and asked for dubs to be made as a Christmas present. Unfortunately if we ever did see SCTV on DVD I doubt it'd be with the original music :frowning:
Gord
I'd love to see the SCTV collection, keep pestering your friend. Why don't you think there would be music along with the series? Are the rights in a limbo? I can still hear the theme song in the back of my head.
Trimark has the rights to Voltron (aka Go Lion and GoShogun). They took a DVD survey on it awhile back, but it seems like they've dropped the issue for the moment. Maybe they got too many "Include the original Japanese shows on the discs, No OSL= NO SALE" emails)
V the series is at Warner Bros. and we all know how much they love their TV discs
"Way Out" (CBS HV???) no doubt would need special care and careful restoration, an expensive and time-consuming process, as well as clever marketing to the "under 30" generation(s).
Gord, a funny thing happened to me earlier this year.
I wanted to get uncut episodes of The Golden Girls dubbed for my personal collection, but Disney refused my offer and told me to get a TiVo. But the Lifetime network masters are not uncut and have generic credits and a shortened theme song, so a TiVo would be pointless for that.
