I'm looking for help designing a set of speaker stands for my "satellite" speakers. I want something thin and unobtrusive, since they will sit at the rear of my room. Something similar to this.
I'm specifically looking for ideas on a base that would look non-"homemade".
Also, would running the speaker wire inside the metal post of this stand cause any real problem? I'd prefer to not have 4' of wire hanging off the back, so I want to run the wire up through the bottom of the base, through the "conduit" and back out at the top. Thus leaving only small amounts of visible speaker wire. Will this cause any type of interference? (the HT part of this project is my weak point).
The searches I've done all come up with the TNT Stubby...this is just too large of a stand for the speakers I am using.
