I'll ditto this. In recent years I've become less and less of a fan of supplements, so I would only consider this new SE if the transfer was improved from the last DTS release, which for a film less than 20 years old, is very poor.

From everything I have been able to gather, this is the same transfer as before.

My only concern is the transfer. I don't think there is much improvement. It's likely the same as the other region's special edition. Just re-packaged for R1.

DVDFile's review really liked the text commentary, my favourite feature. Might have to rebuy just for that.

I'm hoping one of the B&Ms offers it as part of a two-for-$30-type deal with one of the Alien special editions the week of release. That...plus the free ticket to Alien vs. Predator would take some of the sting out of double dipping.

Does anyone know how this free ticket will work? Will it require the purchase of another ticket? I ask because this is a movie that my wife will not attend.

These movie cash offers are always just a check with a MICR number at the bottom. I've never had to buy another ticket. The other night a friend and I both saw "Spider-Man 2" with two free "Movie Cash" tickets, one from my Deluxe Edition, the other from the SuperBit, and we both got in without paying a cent.

I found this yesterday and grabbed it. The free ticket is definately the "Movie Cash" kind, and requires no additional purchase.

Content looks mostly identical to the foreign release, except for the AvP promos and the Alien Quadralogy trailer. However, I have yet to sit down and really watch it. Maybe tonight...

Jimmy!
