Well, it was tivo'd, and my son, who was out playing, and is only 6, came back in, and I'm not going to watch a film with that language with him around. After putting him to bed, I've now watched about 2 hours and 15 minutes, but I have to go to sleep to get up for work tomorrow.

Similarities not in theme, but in structure, execution and intended emotional effect.
Crash is like a poor first draft of Magnolia.

Well I was wrong. I figured since the film was filled with a number of things that films I hate have, and a number that films I love have, that I'd end up loving or hating it. The good outweighed the bad, and I'll be buying the dvd and watching it again, but my liking of the film is actually pretty dispassionate. Enjoyable, but nowhere near my top 100 or anything.

I keep imagining Kevin Spacey playing Lex Luthor as Christopher Walken.

After perusing Steve's Novel Quotes Thread I feel soooooooooo illiterate. :frowning:

(Now if we were talking SF then that would be a different story. :) )

Very strange, Steve. This morning I had Please don't bury me, by John Prine stuck in my brain. And, dammit, it's back again!!!

So, what's the deal?

Have we all stopped thinking?

Or, has George been honing his thread killer skills?

My feelings about dvd commentaries has sure changed. It used to be that a commentary really had to suck for me not to watch it through all the way. These days, unless it really hits a chord with me in the first few minutes, I just stop it and never finish listening to it.

Car alarms suck. Especially at 3am in the morning.

20 years later, Slayer's Reign in Blood album is still the greatest metal album of all time.

i say that whenever someone asks me that :)

after working 145 hours in 2 weeks, today is my first day off, and i feel lazy.

my girlfriend bought a house today, and i'm moving in with her next week. everyone mentions how this is a big step and how i must be feeling nervous from the pressure, but i dont feel any pressure at all.

i wish coca cola was nutritious while retaining the same taste. i also wish it was about 25% more carbonated.
