One of my old DJ buddies has asked a question I can't answer. Since the membership here has a wide field of knowledge, I'm coming to you.... Here's the question:

"I don't care whose version of "Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" I listen, to... I can't figure out one part they're singing.


Wine, wine, wine--elderberry!

Wine, wine, wine--port cherry!

Wine, wine, wine--blackberry!


So what's the last one? I've been meaning to ask for years.

The closest I can get is... "Have 'em harry!" (?) or "Have 'em hairy!" (?)

Or is it another type of wine they're mentioning?"

That's the question.

I have numerous versions in my collection, mostly by Jerry Lee Lewis. I've always thought he was saying, "Have it Harry!" but, it's not real clear. Online lyrics are far from definitive, so I don't trust that.


Any help?
