Daryl,

You'll have to excuse me sometimes. I deal with so many people
in and out of this forum and it's difficult to remember everyone's
background on this forum....

....but I remember yours. You were leaning towards a PC laptop
a few months back because you thought it would better suit your
handicap.

So you ended up buying a Macbook?! I'm so proud of you. I know
you had some other issues as far as moving your Firefox bookmarks
over and such.

Tell me, how is the Mac working out for you? Are you enjoying
your Mac experience thus far and is it everything we Mac owners
had been telling you it would be?

No problem. UPS delivered it Monday but I haven't even opened it yet. My son was suppose to be off work Thursday and come unbox it, swap it with the Dell and help me get sticky keys and mouse keys enabled so I have full control but he had to work. He called late yesterday, said he'd be here today so here's hoping today's the day. As for firefox, thunderbird and opera file transfers, it seems to be a simple process of transferring just a few certain files. I'm sitting here with everything externally backed up ready to switch over. Just watching the movie "Reeker" dvr'd off ShoHD lastnight while I wait. :D My nervousness has passed and I'm excited and ready to switch now. ;)

Well, Daryl, an official "Welcome to the club" is in order.

Please keep us updated on how you are doing and let us know
the moment you realize what you have is far better than a PC
ever was. :)

Daryl, please note that transfering Thunderbird email to Apple Mail is not easy. This is a severe bug in Mail: it will lose email quietly while declaring success. It is absolutely imperative, if you want to move Thunderbird email to Apple Mail, that you get a free program called Eudora Mailbox Cleaner. This processes your email so Mail imports it correctly. I've used it and it works well.

Happy computing!

DaveF,

Thx Dave. Heh I had actually downloaded Eudora Mailbox Cleaner the other day just incase. I'm gonna use thunderbird for the time being. All my opera, firefox and Tbird files (cookies, bookmarks, passwords and mail folders)
transfered into the mac version apps just fine. :)

Good to hear. Apple Mail is pretty decent; I think I prefer it to Thunderbird, but both are good.

I'm trying to figure out how to get my Palm addresses into Address Book without having to buy MissingSync :)
