2010 HTF watch your Blu-ray collection challenge (1 Viewer)

Nice. I have about 141 movies so far but when adding dvd's I have well over 1000. I'd say I've sold about 1/2 of my dvd collection over the years and I just got rid of my last few Lasers. I've been selling alot of my collection over the past few months. Alot of those titles will never get replaced on blue. I'd say about 1/2 of my blu collection is double dips. I know I want to replace most of my Sci-fis on blu-ray and some of my favourites, and those of course that were non-anamorphic or is a significant upgrade.

Forbidden Planet is one I definitely want to pick up when released. Of course I've already got it on dvd. I've been on the fence regarding the Fugitive. I thought the video quality of my dvd poor. What's the bluray like? I'd forgotten about the Last Starfighter. I'll have to replace my dvd.


You've got some great blurays there. From your list I still need to pick up Butch Cassidy, Casablanca and Planet Earth, though I've been wondering whether it was worth upgrading my dvd. I've read the video quality pales in comparison to Life.

Actually, I don't have The Fugitive on Blu Ray, so I can't comment on the quality. That one's on my "to buy" list and it ended up in my post because of a typo in the spreadsheet I used to track my BD purchases. I think Planet Earth would be worth the upgrade. I didn't own it on DVD, but had borrowed and watched a friend's copy. It was beautiful upconverted on my TV, but not as good as the broadcast and not nearly as good as the Blu Ray.

Well I've watched my bluray collection except for Alien 4 and the last couple of discs of Star Trek: Season 1. I've got a couple on order and I'll add those as I watch them. I can't see myself buying alot until after Christmas.

I'm fast losing patience with this whole process. If they have this next year I'm going to have to think long and hard about whether I want to participate. One good thing that has come out of this. I watched all my blurays. The only thing else I'll have to add is the Shrek Collection that I got in the mail today, a German steelbook that I ordered and the Town if I decide to get it.

Epic Failure on my part, the only month i really got in to a challenge was the Horror Splatter fest, but as the month of December came upon me, i started setting up for next year, if it works, its going to be a busy 2011, i want to nail it all down in one year,

it took a good month of setting it up but i have basically programed a years worth of viewing, that will all go through my PS3 , so if the challenges start for next year i am go, 12:01 1 January 2010, Twilight Zone: Season 1, Disc 1 Starts it off.

Yes, she did say that and if you remember I said I would have to think long and hard about participating next year. I probably won't participate because I've accomplished my goal of watching my entire blu ray collection something I probably wouldn't have done if I hadn't signed up for this thread. There's no denying though that there has been problems with this site from time to time and I guess that has put me off a bit. I think next year I'm going to concentrate on watching more of my dvd's. Some I haven't watched in a long time and this way I can decide what I want to eventually replace on blu ray.
