Mark-P is correct. The Oppo player is zooming the image. The options are stretch, full, 1.2x, 1.3x, 1.5x, and 2x. I rarely use these options as I prefer the original aspect ratio.

I don't understand why you are unable to change the aspect ratio on your Blu-rays. I can change the aspect ratio on 1:33 Blu-rays to a variety of different ratios. I'm using an older Oppo player on an even older Panasonic plasma TV.

The movie studios could add HDR to Blu-ray releases too, but I'm quite sure that's not going to happen.

I did just that last year, "Decoy" and "The Big Steal" from Film Noir Collection Vol. 4 won't play anymore. They were fine when I played them many years ago.

The Big Sleep (1978) seems to get quite a few negative comments, but I like the film. The plot is easier to follow in the newer version, and according to some is closer to the novel ( excepting the London location) which I have not read. However the original Big Sleep is a favorite of mine.
