XGIMI has introduced a new 4K ultra short-throw laser projector, the Aura, which was on show at CES last week. The company intends for the new product to “become the new living room centerpiece” and a replacement for conventional TV displays. Capable of producing 4K images at up to 150 inches, the projector can be placed inches away from a screen.
With HDR10 onboard and 2400 ANSI lumens of brightness, the projector should be capable of “…crisper whites, darker and richer blacks and colors that pop.” Aura includes an Android TV 10 user interface running Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Prime for out-of-the-box use. Built-in Chromecast functionality adds content casting and cross-device content syncing. The projector also features three HDMI ports for external devices, such as gaming consoles and Blu-ray players.
