What should I use to clean my HDTV CRT screen with? It says not to use a glass cleaner. What if there is a smudge?

I use a drop or 2 of dish soap in 1/2 gallon of warm water, with a clean cotton white sock or a soft flannel cloth.
Do a section at a time, and dry with same soft cloth. Works great, and no residue.
Do not over saturate the cloth or put more soap in then that, with the water solution.
