The following were listed to be released at one time or another as seen on line or in interviews with the artists. What happened? Does anyone know? Is there any hope or should we forget about it?

Steely Dan - remainder of albums
The Who - Quadrophenia
Talking Heads - Remains in Light; Speaking in Tongues
Janes Addiction - Nothings Shocking
The Cars - The Cars
Yes - Close to the Edge
Tom Petty - You're Gonna Get It
Stevie Ray Vaughn - Couldn't Stand the Weather (5.1 version)
CSNY - Deja Vu
Little Feat- Dixie Chicken; Waiting for Columbus
Deep Purple - Burn
The Doors - Complete Box Set
B-52's - Cosmic Thing
Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

There is a link that still lists these but I cannot post it here. Do a search on Dogpile for "upcoming dvd audio" and the link should be #14.

I'm not sure anyone knows but here are some contributing factors:

1. The Harry Fox Agency wanted a royalty for each layer on the disc...supposedly this has held up quite a bit of releases.

2. The Big Four are promoted DualDisc so the focus has shifted a bit from pure hirez.

3. In some cases, the artists themselves may have had a change of heart.

The Who - Quadrophenia

This is the one I want the most. It may be my favorite CD of all time, and it really would shine in multi-channel.

This IS out. REM's entire Warner catalog was rereleased in a dualpack DVD-A/CD package a few months ago...
