I hate when I see the phrase “Starting At” in an ad.
It means the displayed price is meaningless

I couldn't say it any better. They are completely useless.

And Best Buy is doing this more and more often.

Why would they pay for the paper and ink to print completely non-helpful information for the people who are taking the time to read their ads?? Give your shoppers something that makes sense and is constructive.

Because they want to trick us. Last year, Arrival was listed in their ad (and accordingly reported by you as such in the Roundup) in a section listed "Starting at $14.99." Only the "Starting at" was really small. So I expected it to be $14.99. By the time I found out that it was actually $19.99, I already had in my head that I was going to get it, so I did. Had it been listed as $19.99, I probably wouldn't have looked to get it that week at all, since I was trying to wait for a price drop.
