Best Buy is dark again this week--with regard to a printed flyer.

It's an eclectic mix of new stuff coming out this week. Nothing pre-ordered by me. But I'm thinking Please Stand By looks mighty interesting. That wil be sitting in my cart waiting for a price drop down the road.

And, Rose Marie had an extremely interesting (and long!) career as an entertainer. I might pick up Wait for Your Laugh someday.

Safe shopping, Rounduppers!

Yes, looking forward to seeing the Rose Marie documentary. There are a couple of others in this week's list I've either pre-ordered or will eventually get.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike.

Oh, I hadn't realized Wait for you Laugh was coming out this week, so thank you very much, Mike. I'll be picking this one up!

Nothing for me this week. That's two weeks in a row and that hasn't happened for months. My wallet needn't worry about getting fat because there's a fair amount of stuff in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

Thank you, Mike! :)

As I just noted over in the Amazon packaging discussion in the Blu-ray software forum, Amazon just shipped my two Blu-ray pre-orders for this week via UPS along with fly swatters my dad ordered separately. We'll see how the packaging is.

In addition to the 4K debut of Mamma Mia! which is listed in the Roundup, there is also a new double dip on standard Blu-ray which Mike didn't list. It apparently adds a new bonus disc to the mix. I'm not sure if the feature presentation will have changed at all.

Even though I love musicals and liked the movie in its theatrical release, for some reason I never got around to picking up a previous Blu-ray of it, so I am getting the new one, but don't have any use for 4K at this time so am just getting the regular edition. I'm not sure if it would be worth a double dip for the new bonus disc, but since I never got the old one, I'm happy to take it. It's also priced right at Amazon, only $9.36 at the time I'm writing this.

There's also a new DVD edition for $12.98. (Does anyone here still want DVDs for something like this?) It's interesting that the Blu-ray is actually cheaper. I know that the movie has been released at least once as a combo pack, but the new Blu-ray doesn't appear to be that, and the DVD is separate. This is fine with me as I wouldn't need a DVD.

These new releases are, of course, perfectly timed in advance of the theatrical release of the sequel in July. I'm hoping to be surprised and find Movie Cash for that inside the packaging. I'm not really expecting it, and I won't be mad if it's not there, but it would be a nice bonus and would make sense.

Also, I'd like to call attention to Mary and the Witch's Flower, which is an all-around delightful movie. I'm getting that too and would highly recommend it to anybody even slightly interested. I saw it twice in theaters earlier this year and am really looking forward to owning it and seeing it again. It may not be Studio Gibli, but Studio Ponoc certainly carries on their tradition of magical family entertainment in this film. It's just a great piece of pure entertainment all the way through.

Oh, and The Insult is a really good movie, albeit one that I don't really feel the need to revisit. But if you're interested in that, it would make a worthwhile rental, and deserved the Best Foreign Language Film nomination it got.

Just Mama Mia in 4K this week. I won’t get to watch for a while, but the price is right and it’s my favorite musical. I may see about Thor Ragnarok at Target, but it’s still likely too expensive for me.

Thanks Mike!

I just got my copy of the new Blu-ray edition of Mamma Mia! delivered.

FYI, the new bonus disc is a DVD...not a DVD of the film as in a combo pack, but a disc with extras on it that happens to be a DVD rather than another Blu-ray disc.

I do not own a previous edition of this title and therefore cannot be sue, but based on this I would strongly suspect that the Blu-ray itself has not been altered versus its earlier release. And, although it would have been a logical inclusion, there is no movie cash for the sequel included. The only insert is a digital copy code.

I'm not exactly sure what this is...

I remember hearing about The Counselor back when it first came out, mostly because it got mostly negative reviews and was a big bomb domestically. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=counselor.htm. I'm kind of surprised there was additional money to produce a recut version of it. I haven't actually seen it so cannot pass personal judgment, but I remember hearing from people that it wasn't great. Perhaps the recut version might be an improvement.
