Since there was no dedicated thread for this film I thought I'd start one. Looks like the cast for Thor 3 is rounding out nicely. Marvel Studios has confirmed that along with Chris Hemsworth, actors appearing in the film include Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Tessa Thompson:

Natalie Portman will not be reprising her role as Jane Foster.

I'm looking forward to this one - Thor and Hulk's space adventure buddy comedy! I imagine it will actually be more serious than that, but I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.

Looking forward to this a lot. I happen to love the Thor movies. I'm disappointed that we apparently will not be seeing Sif or the Warriors Three. (And Balder - have we ever seen Balder?) Leaving Sif out is a real mystery to me, since Jaimie Alexander brings real star power to the show, now that her show Blindspot is a hit. (The movie films during the show's hiatus, so that can't be the reason.)

But boy, that cast is top notch. Hope Blanchett and Hopkins get some screen time together.

Jamie Alexander has hinted on twitter that she will be involved.

It looks like they are really going for it with the cast for this.

I guess we're looking at another one where the girlfriends don't show up because they didn't sign a 9-picture deal, or got pissed because a director was replaced. Or because, let's face it, the ladies are totally expendable in these.

Bruce Banner: "So where's Jane?"
Thor: "She's, uh, fine. She's fine."
Banner: "I asked where she was."
Thor: "With Pepper Potts. Have you seen my new muscles?"
Banner: "Where is Pepper Potts?"
Thor: "With Peggy Carter. Look, I put a new handle on Mjölnir."
Banner: "Where's Peggy Carter?"
Thor: "Saving that dance... with Betty Ross."
Banner: *Hulks out and smashes Thor*

The (non-Marvel) definition from Wikipedia:

In Norse mythology, Ragnarök is a series of future events, including a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures (including the gods Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr, Heimdallr, and Loki), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Afterward, the world will resurface anew and fertile, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. It is as well the end of the world, and the start of eternal winter. Ragnarök is an important event in the Norse canon, and has been the subject of scholarly discourse and theory.
