I remember watching this on TCM many years ago, and I liked it. Redford is a thoughtful filmmaker who avoids gimmickry and silly action sequences in deference to character development and story. This, like QUIZ SHOW and A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, requires a slightly longer attention span than other crap being made at roughly the same time. I recommend it highly.

Received the Blu-ray and a nice improvement over the dvd. Colors are strong and some film damage but overall a nice presentation. When i see it next time i will watch it with the commentary.
