It is wonderful news hearing that Universal is releasing The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, along with the four other Don Knotts movies on 9/2. I know I am repeating myself, but I just wish that they would include a Don Knotts commentary, on at least G&MC. With Jim Fitzell, Everett Greenbaum, and Alan Rafkin no longer with us, it seems to me that it is imperative to get Don's first hand recollections on making this wonderful film. Getting Andy Griffith with him would be a plus, since Andy helped with the film (it was his idea for the running gag of "Attaboy, Luther).
What are the chances of getting Don Knotts to make a commentary outside of the DVD, ala South Park? I think people would pay extra for a cd commentary.
Of course, this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.
DVDFile is reporting Don't know if this is true, but if so, make that 3 purchases and 2 no purchases (unless by some strange event, 4:3 is the OAR for How to Frame a Figg).
Could the OAR issue have something to do with the fact that Universal had already had letterboxed transfers of GAMC, TRA, and TSGITW on Laserdisc - but TLG? and HTFAF came out in full frame VHS versions only? Interesting to note the the trailer for The Love God? included on the VHS tape is letterboxed...a possible indication that Universal had originally intended a LD release?
