Headline Date: TBA Release Date: 8/19/2014 THE FLINTSTONES Product Source: Theatrical Theatrical Studio: Universal Theatrical Release: 5/27/1994 Synopsis: 1994's The Flintstones brought the modern Stone Age family - immortalized in the longest-running animated series in prime-time history - to the live-action big screen. After an aptitude test mix-up, Fred Flintstone (John Goodman) trades his job as a Slate & Company Bronto-crane operator for a vice presidency. However, there's trouble brewing in Bedrock: An evil executive (Kyle MacLachlan) and his sinister secretary (Halle Berry) are now plotting to use Fred as the fall guy in an embezzlement scheme! Join Barney Rubble (Rick Moranis), Betty Rubble (Rosie O’Donnell), Wilma Flintstone (Elizabeth Perkins) and her mother (Elizabeth Taylor) in a Steven Spielrock production filled with classic sight gags, dino-sized production values and sensational special effects. It's always nice to have another Elizabeth Taylor movie on Blu, even if her part is little more than a cameo. She made the film because they promised her that the premiere would benefit The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

This one will likely be a "smooth" seller, probably have a nice artificially sharp picture too.

Not sure why they didn't bundle the sequel on this release as well. Seems like it would be a much better seller that way.

I'm actually more interested in the sequel and would definitely have bought a two-pack.

I loved this in the cinema when I was 8, and I had the Happy Meal toys too (from a McDonalds in France, no less!)

Where does the time go?

I bought this with a Pioneer CDL-1850 and 45 or so Laserdiscs early around 2013, and played it on my Pioneer DVL-909 late of last year,

My decision is still unchanged. It was god awful dreadful. Unlikely to be ever played again.
