Struck by the supercharged fallout of a particle accelerator explosion, forensic scientist Barry Allen becomes the fastest man alive: The Flash! With his newfound time-warping speed and help from the S.T.A.R. Labs team – Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon and Harrison Wells – and his adoptive family, Detective Joe West and Joe’s daughter Iris, the Scarlet Speedster runs circles around other metahumans set on wreaking havoc in Central City, while traveling between alternate universes and protecting our world from otherworldly threats. Last season, new dangers arrived from a parallel earth known as Earth-2, under the direction of an evil speedster named Zoom. In Season Three, Barry faces the unknown – as he irrevocably alters the timeline by saving his mother from the clutches of the Reverse-Flash. The only question now is – as he wrestles with the consequences of his own Flashpoint Paradox, including the wrathful Speed God Savitar – will he be able to find a way out?

“After three seasons, The Flash continues to score in ratings and ranks as the top series for The CW,” said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, TV Marketing. "Loaded with both in-depth and exclusive new bonus content, both fans of the show and DC fanboys will be eager to add the Blu-ray or DVD release to their collections."

With Blu-ray’s unsurpassed picture and sound, The Flash: The Complete Third Season Blu-ray release will include 1080p Full HD Video with DTS-HD Master Audio for English 5.1. The 4-disc Blu-ray will feature a high-definition Blu-ray and a Digital Copy of all 23 episodes from season three.

Very odd that Warner Bros is not including the entire crossover, "Invasion" as an extra. Only including Part 1 will leave an incomplete cliffhanger unless you also buy "Arrow" and "Legends".

Yeah, it's a bummer. I was very happy that both the "Arrow" and "Flash" sets included the other series's crossover episode last season.

I figured for this season they'd make an "Invasion!" disc and include it with "Supergirl" S2, "Arrow" S5, "Flash" S3 and "Legends" S2. At the very least, I figured the latter three series would have the episodes for the other two.

Also strange that the Arrow season 5 set hasn't been announced yet. Warner put out a press release yesterday about all of its TV shows on DVD and blu-ray, and Arrow is not mentioned. Amazon UK lists Arrow season 5 as coming out Sept. 11 (which would be 9/12 in the US).

Apparently The Flash , Legends, and probably Arrow when announced are getting Allied: The Invasion Complex,” a featurette about the CW’s superhero crossover event. If they are not including the complete crossover in the season sets, they should put out the three episodes as a separate release.

It looks like John Latchem just compiled and summarized the individual title press releases for that article. Warner Bros. likes to stagger the DC superhero TV show releases, so my guess is that we'll be getting the "Arrow" press release in another week or two, advertising a release date a week or two after "The Flash" Season 3 comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray.

Having a four-episode single-disc compilation release for "Invasion!" would seem like a no brainer. It would suck having to double-dip on the episode(s) for the show(s) people buy the season sets for, but at least nobody would be missing parts of the crossover.

The one thing that helps is that Netflix's current deal with The CW means their DC superhero shows are available to stream very shortly after the season ends. So if I'm watching one of the Blu-Ray sets and want to watch the Invasion! episodes I don't have on disc, I can just fire up Netflix and stream them.

This.

I plowed through Legends when it was released on Netflix about a month ago and I'm currently five episodes into Flash. The Legends piece of the Invasion! worked decently enough for me and I didn't feel like I was missing a whole lot without seeing everything before it. But YMMV.

I was surprised how fast Netflix had new season episodes. I remember last year waiting until almost September before I could watch season 4 of the Arrow. I binged watched Flash in about 3 days. I just couldn't stop watching.

How is it Warner has this cool deal with Netflix and yet still finds it (presumably) profitable to release blu-rays? Meanwhile, Marvel, which has a deal with Netflix, only releases blu-rays of their shows overseas. Seems Marvel could learn a thing or two from Warner.
