It vexes me when they call these "live action" but they're 90% CGI "animation" anyway. Unless they're doing humans in makeup like the recent Cats.

I'm also unclear how directing one documentary (albeit Oscar-winning) makes Questlove the top choice to direct this likely high-budget, FX-heavy film?

I like the original Aristocats, but it certainly isn't one of Disney's most cherished movies. I guess this is what happens when they have pretty quickly exhausted the list of bigger titles to remake.

It's going to be hard to top the original 1970, as Phil Harris and Eva Gabor were the perfect voices for Thomas and Duchess.
