Sounds like Spielberg. His history is littered with projects that are "announced" or "confirmed" then never seem to happen.

If he's not feeling the spark for Bullitt, then it's best he move on to something else. I'd enjoy seeing another Spielberg sci fi movie. Given recent developments, I wonder if Robopocalypse might be revived?

He's currently one of the producers for the epic World War II miniseries for Apple called Masters of the Air, which should be coming out in a few months.

I don't think the Bond producers could afford Spielberg. In any case, I think he lost interest in directing a Bond movie long ago.
