Ex-crime reporter Raymond St. Ives (Charles Bronson) has elegant taste, a yen for gambling, and an unfinished novel in his typewriter. When he crosses paths with a sinister man by the name of Procane, he gets something else: a price on his head. ST. IVES is coming to Blu-ray January 9. Elisha Cook, Daniel J. Travanti, Jeff Goldblum, and Robert Englund are also featured in this sleek, funny caper.

  • NEW SCAN FROM AN INTERPOSITIVE (2023)
  • Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

I'll certainly be buying this. Although it's a lightweight movie, St. Ives has many good points. For me, Charles Bronson's performance is one of his most likable, playing a genial character with a wry sense of humor. I think Lucien Ballard could have made Jacqueline Bisset look a bit better, a bit sexier. The cast is superb and surprising too with Maximilian Schell and John Houseman playing important supporting roles.

I remember watching this movie in a rundown theater located downtown in my hometown. What a dump that has since been torn down.

They place the film's leading lady, the lovely Jacqueline Bisset prominently on the cover but no credit. Similarly in the press release, they list Robert Englund and Elisha Cook Jr. as co-stars but no mention of Ms. Bisset. Hmmm .....

Pretty much the same puzzlement.

Being a pretty big fan of Bronson's 70s features, I am sure I'll add this title to the collection at some point. I caught this theatrically, but I don't think I've ever seen this on home video.
