Looks like the sequal to Sam and Max won't be coming out any time soon afterall.

First, Full Throttle cancelled, now Sam and Max being done in. Where did the glory days of adventure games go? I sorely miss them :frowning:

Ah man, that just ruined my day. I was so excited about that sequel. I don't buy many games nowadays, but I would have been waiting for the store to open for that one. And what exactly does "not the appropriate time" mean anyway? Is next week the appropriate time?

This sucks. Especially since it appears the production was halted due mainly to "marketplace" and "economic" considerations. On the other hand, if the game had not been "shaping up" adequately I would rather they not release it at all.

Maybe they should turn it into an online squad-based shooter -- then people would buy it...

(sarcasm, for those pumped up by such an idea)

Dammit! I was REALLY looking forward to this one too!

Why is it that in a world where the RPG genre seems to do just fine, the graphical adventure would fall flat?

Oh well-maybe Steve Purcell will go back to making more comics!

The cancelation has also made Fark. Lucas Arts has seriously underestimated the popularity of Sam n' Max.
