I have the HTM MX-500 and have loved it, but my new TV uncovered a fatal flaw: 0.2 second pauses and 20-command limits on macros. After my TV (Toshiba 26-HF66) is turned on, it is upwards of 10 seconds before it's ready to accept any further signals, which means I cannot program one macro, for example, to turn on the TV and the DVD player and switch the TV input to DVD.

So, I'm looking for recommendations for a remote that either has longer programmable pauses (or much higher limits on the number of commands per macro).

Any Harmony will do the trick. The time(s) for commands are probably already in the TV's database entry, but if they aren't, they are almost infinitely adjustable by editing the easy to use software. See this support answer for details:

Any HTM remote above a 850 has programmable delays, as do RTI remotes
