Preamp for Classe amp (1 Viewer)

I have a turntable going through an old Adcom preamp / amp combo going to B&W 805s speakers in a pretty small space.

I also have a Pro Ject Tube Box DS phono imager and and a Classe CAV 150.

Looking at getting a different pre-amp to put between teh Pro-Ject and Classe. Trying to stay sub 1000 and ok with used. Any ideas?

Which model "old" Adcom preamp do you have ? If you are willing to remain with Classé, you may find one of the models listed below with Bluebook prices a good match. The Phase LInear 3000 Series 2 is also an excellent sounding preamp I have had in my collection of vintage gear, and will recommend. The image below is my own, submitted to the site HiFi Engine.

Earlier Phase Linear gear was desiged by Bob Carver. He left the company in 1977 to form Carver Corp. Phase Linear was sold to Pioneer Electronics in 1979.
