Keep in mind the prints on the DVD set were not restored and therefore the image quality looked poor,
especially the washed out colors. So the Blu-ray edition is welcomed to get decent versions of the episodes.

I've watched the series twice on DVD. My recollection is that they looked pretty good.

The DVD set looks very good, sad thing is the animated series already got an HD remaster(released in SD DVd of course) while the live action series would look jaw dropping if it were to be remastered. Malibu Creek State Park doesn't get any love in HD, another show that was filmed there was M*A*SH*
