Onkyo universal remote help (1 Viewer)

A friend recently purchased an Onkyo TX-SR602 and is trying to set up the accompanying remote control as his only remote. He is having trouble with the Comcast Scientific Atlantic cable box. Onkyo provides no codes for any SA products so he used the learning function. His remote sends the right signals but for too long a time. If he changes the channel it goes up 2 channels. If he hits power it turns on and off. Seems to double the signal. He tried to re learn the commands holding the cable remote buttons for as short as possible to reduce signal time, but that did not work.

Anyone have similar problems with this remote?

Anyone know the SA cable box codes?

Anyone know another work around?

He might want to try the opposite, holding the teaching remote buttons down longer.
