Need X-Box Live help bad Windows 2000 ICS connection (1 Viewer)

Ok I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but i need help bad.

As yo can tell from the topic im trying to connect using Windows 2000 and internet connection sharing. the funny thing is i had x-box live working. But now it will not work, absolutely will not work.

So I know the settings are correct, but now i cant connect and i keep getting DNS errors.

so is this method of connecting just troublesome?

I am seriously thinking about just buying arouter if that will be simple for me, anything to make this easier will be worth it. If ti matters im connected to cable internet through Rogers, but it is their roadrunner service. same thing that time warner offers i believe.

any and all help you can offer is needed.

Are you running a firewall at all? Does it work if you turn the firewall off? With cable you really want some kind of firewall a router will give you that.

FWIW I'd go the router method, it's what I have & when I had XBox Live I didn't have any problems at all. MS only recommends ICS if it's you're only option.
