I have Star Wars on the brain this week....
Here's my list of extras I think (or hope) will be included on the DVD.
  • Commentary by Lucas and Others
  • Choices, Breathing, Mystery, Forbidden Love, and Clone War Trailers
  • Yoda Trailer
  • 13+ Commecials
  • Web Documentaries
  • Layered Effects footage shown at C2
  • 8 minute montage shown at Showest and C2 (crossing fingers)
  • Deleted Scenes
  • "Making of"
  • Photo Gallery
  • Concept Art
  • Across the Stars Music Video
Anyone think of anything else?

No, that about covers it. And, your list is very plausible.

I assume by "making of," you mean something like the Beginning doc on TPM. I think that's been pretty much confirmed.

I could care less what ex-tree features the disc might contain, I'm hopeing it comes with one of those little individally-sized boxes of EPISODE II cereal though.;) Best wishes!

For once it would be nice to have a 24 bit DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 track that hasn't been dumbed down (ie the LD vs DVD DD EX soundtracks of TPM).

But seeing as this is Lucasfilm...

As far as "making of," I would imagine this will be divided into several featurettes such as in TPM DVD.

No, that'll be the web docs which are already currently available. Strong word is there will be a full-length doc like the one on TPM. Don't know where I read that, though.

CELEBRATION: DVD Release of AOTC
Thu, May 09, 02 01:50:37 AM EDT
Jim Ward didn't want McCallum to give any specifics, but it sure looks like we should expect a AOTC DVD this fall, based on when they say 'coming quickly.' Production of the disc will be done right according to the marketing staff, and already they've worked for over one year on the disc. Nothing specific, just more ammunition to think this fall.
Update: John Knoll reported that there are three fully completed CG scenes not in the theatrical release that will be in the DVD.

It'll be loaded. I consider TPM to be one of the best DVDs out there, just due to the quality of the extras.

Picture could have been sharper, but why complain?

I'm guessing AOTC will be even better than TPM(movie and DVD).

In response to original post, I would love to see a deleted scenes documentary similar to the one used on EpI. To me, that was one of the best features of that DVD.

What I want:

A 5.1 EX soundtrack that is mastered with similar dialog levels to your average "blockbuster" DVD.

The EE/Ringing/Haloing bug from TPM fixed

Extras on par with the TPM DVD.

Seamless branching for theatrical cut of DVD cut....

I agree, Richard. TPM was shot on film, so perhaps a digital-to-film-to-digital transfer was appropriate. But AOTC is all digital, so a direct digital transfer seems appropriate.

I would highly doubt a DTS track, although it would be nice. Considering they didn't do it with TPM, I don't see it here.

Well, I was pretty close...

Just no "8 minute montage shown at Showest and C2" and "making of" became plural. I'm glad we got the layered effects footage, it was pretty cool.
