I'm still using an HD Toshiba 62" DLP which I bought used for $100 a few years ago. I hadn't planned on going to 4K until I could find a great deal on a used one. But yesterday I noticed that Best Buy had the 65" LG LG 65UM6900PUA for $530.
I looked for user reviews and found over 4,000 on Target.com. The average review was surprisingly high for a budget model at 4.6 stars out of 5. I read through many of the reviews. Most were very pleased. But I'm concerned that some found that it didn't last long. The warranty is 1 year, and I don't want to spend $530 if it's likely to die shortly after the warranty expires.
Also my kids use it for gaming; we have an Xbox One. One of the reviews said that the video didn't keep up with fast-moving classical pianists' fingers, and mentioned that someone told them the video might not be fast enough to keep up with gaming.
Any thoughts?
