Is Lindsay Anderson's If.... available in any region? (1 Viewer)

Is Lindsay Anderson's brilliant If.... availble on DVD in any region? I know the other Mick Travis films are out in R1 and R2 but not If.... for some reason. Would really love to have this one. Last time I saw it was on my parent's old Beta (yup, Beta!) copy.

In a word: no.

This question raises its head frequently, Anderson's masterpiece being among the most highly anticipated of all potential, future DVD releases.

Paramount remastered it several years ago, and a Malcolm McDowell commentary was recorded at that time. However, the DVD has failed to materialise, some say due to political sensitivity in the wake of the Columbine High School affair.

American critic, David Ehrenstein confirmed that Criterion are releasing If.... later this year and that he has written the liner notes. Click here to see for yourself.

Warner says they are releasing it in R1 in 2007. Let's just hope it's the complete cut.
