This is an extremely informative and
interesting news story about how one man
seemingly brought DVD to the masses, the
resistance it initially received, and the
direction the format could possibly be heading
towards.

It is my personal opinion that as much credit is
due to Lieberfarb and Warner Brothers for the
format's success as it is to the format's demise
thanks to the studio's sloppy handling of television
product and OAR presentation.
Overall, however, this is a story that will
provoke interesting discussion on this forum.

He was also interviewed for a segment on PBS's Nightly Business Report that aired last Friday. Interesting. And in that report, Lieberfarb elaborated on what DVD means in terms of studio profits. The report was upbeat but didn't focus one bit on the primary reason for the format's success: extraordinary picture quality.
