Can I run 1 HDMI in addition to 2 separate component in's?

Example:

TWC 8300HD into HDMI #1 in.
DVD player into Colorstream #1 (component #1) in.
Nintendo Wii into Colorstream #2 (component #2) in.

I thought I once understood that the HDMI and component inputs were linked somehow. Like you could only use two of the four inputs.

Whether this is the case or not, it looks like eventually I'll be investing into a component cable switcher. Can someone recommend one?

In general HDMI and Component are not linked at all. However, some TV/Monitors do only allow use of say up to 5 total of all the inputs. It should be in your manual.
