Nathan...what gets me, is that they always pour it from a QUART-sized bottle.
Also, watch for how often one of them grabs an apple for a snack; the snacker will invariably rub the apple on his shirtsleeve before taking a bite. Wonder what that accomplishes(?)
The Cleavers - Ward & Wally - are apple-polishers as well.

Consider the lighting contrast. A glass of water, underneath the bright spotlights, would be very reflective. They need something very low on the translucent scale... like milk and OJ.
Even that crappy beer they show on Cheers (NORM !!!!) was supposedly gross tasting and didn't really look like beer, except to the camera.
