In XP, is there a way to disable the "Recent Documents" tab that appears when you hit the start button?

Chad -

Right click on the Start Button

Click on Properties

On the Start Menu tab, click Customize

Click on the Advanced tab

At the bottom third of the Advanced box clear the check mark for "List my most recently opened documents."

That will then remove it from the Start bar.

FYI, the recent documents is still active, it just isn't in the start menu. So that means if you still want to keep your recent documents private, you'll have to hit the clear button next to the check mark Colin mentioned.

If you don't find what he's talking about, it might be because you are using the classic start menu scheme, and that dialog and tab isn't there in that scheme.
