Help with sony vegas 4.0 (1 Viewer)

I'm working on a school project using vegas, but I can't figure out how to add text into the pictures. I go to INSERT and click Text Media, so it brings up a little slide that says sample text. How do you change the contents of it?

Where it says sample text in that new window, just highlight it and type. You can then adjust the size, font, color, positioning and effects there as well.

Then just put that media in a seperate layer above the rest of the project so that it appears overlayed on whatever you have showing.
