This was one of the last projects that Norman Lear got into production before he passed away:


Very strange idea for a series. Obviously, the newer generations of Evans family still live in Apartment 17C of the North Gilbert Avenue housing projects. But otherwise it doesn't seem to have a lot in common with the original series. The humor and heightened reality feel more like "The Boondocks" than "Good Times".

Never thought I'd see this property revived. I guess it's really in name only.

Fingers crossed for an animated reboot of Welcome Back Kotter.

Based on the trailer, I'm quite surprised Lear had any involvement. It seems to make a mockery of everything he stood for.

Hard pass.

Love the original series, and I cannot fathom why this needs to be rebooted in animated form.

Lear probably gets a credit because it’s a show he created 🤷🏼‍♂️

Anyway That preview actually made me feel sad.
