93% audience score on RT. I love it when the audience likes a film more than critics.

As for my thoughts the human aspect needed a little work, but It was colorful action-packed off the rails bananas. I also liked the buddy cop feeling between Kong and Goji, reminded me of lethal weapon.

I wasn't bored by The New Empire...but it didn't wow me either. For the first hour, I was impressed with the effects and how much there was...then it all started looking the same to me and it lost its appeal. Humans play a very distant second fiddle to the monsters (as expected); this is just not a franchise I care about. I'll watch the movies for the spectacle, but it's not one that'll go down in my book as something to recommend.

The audio, though, in the Dolby theater, was absolutely amazing. I was rattling the entire time and it as loud enough to drown out most of the people talking to each other through the movie on a Saturday night.

I gotta believe that the good will generated by Godzilla Minus One has helped this film at the box-office.

Adam Wingard may have given a hint as to who the next bad guy might be in the next one.
