Plot: After a violent encounter, Roy finds Rocky and sees something in her eyes that prompts a fateful decision. He takes her with him as he flees to Galveston, an action as ill-advised as it is inescapable.Thought this was a well made movie.
Written by Nic Pizzolatto of True Detective fame it is similar to that series in the way it takes you into a dark underbelly of modern America.
By no means family fun but the characters are intelligent and brought to life very effectively by the cast who are all extremely competent.
The movie never feels predictable and it manages to keep the viewer engaged.
Was not expecting it to end how it did which can only be a good thing if you are somewhat surprised a conventional finish to a movie is avoided.
A solid 3 out of 5.
Definitely worth a watch.
