dvd/vcr recorder, no tuner (1 Viewer)

I have a Comcast digital box and plan to purchase a Toshiba DVR620 dvd/vcr combo recorder, it
has no tuner thus no RF connections. Can I record programs from the cable box directly
without getting an external tuner?

That depends on your cable box...
Is it HD?
Cause if it is, lots of them have setting to kill "all the other outputs" when you turn on the HDMI...
Which if that is the case...then no, you can't...
Basically, the Toshiba will record whatever you send to it.
