I'm currently using a Pioneer DVD player in my PC and am tired of it cause it's really loud. That and Win2k doesn't like my ATI software so I can't output dolby digital... ...so I think its time I just get a set-top DVD player. Only problem is, I don't know much about them and don't know what to get? Here's my HT system so far, if it's even necessary:

Klipsch Quintets sats

Klipsch SC-C1 center

Pioneer D509s reciever

SVS 25-31pc

older GE 27" T.V. (has s-video!)

So what would you recommend in the $150-180 range?

Nate, I'm a big Toshiba fan so I think that you can't go wrong with the Toshiba 2800. The 2800 is loaded with features and most importantly...the picture quality is terrific and one of the more glitch free players out there. Get a nice S-video cable for your connection and you'll be set. The good news is that this player, at full retail, is only $150.

Thanks a lot, I'll look into it :) My case is modded and so is my DVD rom drive (so you can see the dvd spinning) and since I haven't finished it, it's all open. I was watching Gladiator last night nad it was so bad I had to put a pillow over the case. It helped some but it was still there.
So yeah, it's time for a set-top :) Thanks for the recommendation

How about a Panasonic RV32? From all reports the RV32 is essentially this year's version of the RV31. I have the RV31 and have never had a disc glitch of any kind with it--a solid performer. It also plays CD-Rs and MP3s. $150 retail. Best Buy has a sale this week on DVD players, so they might have this for 5%-10% off.
