What’s the difference between the 760 and the 1700? At a quick glance they seem equivalent. Besides the 1700 costing $200 more.

1700 costs $150 more. Has 80W per channel vs 75W, MultiEQ XT vs MultiEQ, and multi-zone support.

I’m probably just fine with the 760 for my living room. I might miss the better Audyssey a bit. But I don’t think I care $150 worth.

Working on buying the AVR-S760H. Amazon lists it but isn’t shipping yet. BestBuy doesn’t list it at all. Emailed Robert Zohn asking for his availabilit.

And measured my hutch to make sure it fits. :)

Build quality. What’s the weight difference?
This is a living room receiver, so unimportant. The 760 does 4K UHD and VRR and AirPlay 2, so I'll be good for the forseeable future. I don't need the extra features of the 1700 (+5W/ch, multi-room support, MultiEQ XT).

I'm saving the big money for the theater 4K upgrade which might be an Anthem pre-pro among other wallet-exhausting toys.

Called Value Electronics today. They don’t have 760 in stock yet, awaiting info. Got my name on the waitlist to learn availability and pricing when in stock.

Any word on when these start shipping?

Zero availability and no pricing so far from Value Electronics or Best Buy. Amazon lists them at $100 above MSRP from random third-party sellers.

Wondering if I should punt on Denon and get some other brand that’s shipping.

Per Slickdeals Costco has had limited supply. Per HTUPod Robert says the 1700s should ship this week, maybe the 760s too?

Why not buy directly from Denon?
They’re offering it for sale. But don’t actually give any shipping/delivery timelines without committing to the purchase, last I looked. Don’t trust that kind of advertising. So, I’m not trusting them to actually have units to sell me.

Also typically cheaper and better service to buy from a good retailer than direct from manufacturer
