My tv has the option to turn on a film mode which processes the 3-2 pulldown. I thought the progressive DVD player was suppose to this. Since i already have the film mode 3-2 pulldown does it mean that everything is deinterlaced and i dont need a progressive player? More info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jae,
Progressive scan DVD players usually do a better job de-interlacing than the TV. I do not know which TV you have but for the most part a progressive scan DVD player is recommended. Check out Link Removed for more info. The shootout tests the 3:2 pulldown capabilities of a Pioneer elite set against several different progressive scan DVD players.

Dalton
