On second thought, I’m changing my vote to

Black Narcissus because I don’t consider the Kubrick to be a British film—no matter that it was filmed there in its entirety. Just enough to swing a close decision to P&P.

Eyes Wide Shut although I also share some concerns as to whether it should be considered a British film.

Black Narcissus has some of the best cinematography ever put on film, but I found the story to be average.

The Third Man
The Man in the White Suit
Dr. Strangelove (clearly the better film, and I am baffled at why this would be any less British than A Clockwork Orange  )

Well... American actors, American setting. ACO is quite clearly a British film. Most people wouldn't guess that Strangelove is a British film without knowing it.

ACO is probably Kubrick's "most British" film (or Barry Lyndon).

Of course, it all just boils down to how you look at it.

Sigh... yes, the Peters are British. The other four lead actors are American.

I really shouldn't have had to point that out.
