No, but in the past, it was not expected that a movie would get transferred and sold to the public. The old contracts allowed for a song to be played in the movie, for the limited number of copies that any movie had.

The groups(whatever) want royalties every time their song is played. If you haven't heard yet, the price of blank CD's includes a cut to the RIAA, for distribution to all of its members.

I still want The Wonder Years badly and I do believe we'll eventually get it (when the DVD options box for Fox starts running low), but I'm pretty sure it will cost us. Quantum Leap kept most of (and possibly all, but no one has verified it yet) the original music, but has only 9 episodes and retails for $59.95! American Dreams is retailing for $89.95!

At least someone at Shout! Factory or Feig/Apatow knew how to negotiate because Freaks & Geeks has a TON of music (one show even features 5 or 6 different songs by The Who) and it is very reasonably priced.

Long ago I looked at the music listing at The Wonder Years episode guide and there is a ton of it. However, there are several songs that were used 3 or 4 times during the course of the show (like "When a Man Loves a Woman" or any other song that appeared on the soundtrack CD) as well as a ton of music that's just gotta be in the public domain, so I don't see why it would be an impossible task for Fox to tackle. At least they've polled the fans about it in months past, so you can tell it has been at least considered.

All I know is I'd be willing to pay A LOT for TWY.

Cover art and info about extras is about to go up on TVShowsOnDVD. The link will be here, once I post it (give me a few minutes).

Whoops, I didn't see that you posted that a few hours ago, Patrick. I didn't mean to step on your toes! It's just that I just got around to posting news today, after taking a bit of a break. I didn't even notice that thread was there! My bad.

Well, I have something VERY COOL about to go up next. :)
